Handmade 102mm/4" honesuki of carbon damascus folded by Monolith of carbon 1095 and 15N20 steels. This light blade features a comfy Wa handle of faceted Cocobolo, a wood found in Central America and enjoying recent popularity due to the show Better Call Saul. Go for the deep dive on Cocobolo here. The handle also has a ferule of Bog Oak, large beams of Oak that have been buried in a peat bog for hundreds or sometimes thousands of years. The extremely low oxygen conditions of the bog protect the wood from normal decay, while the underlying peat provides acidic conditions where iron salts and other minerals react with the tannins in the wood, gradually giving it a distinct dark brown to almost black color.
The overall length of this knife is 230mm/9". 3.4 oz.
